System is trying to boot to a network, this is most likely due to the hard disk drive. The system is trying to boot through a network and you don't have one. That network optiion is probably the last one in the list, the first being the CD drive and there's no bootable disk in there so the only other option is the hard disk.

I would request you to install Qualcomm Atheros AR8152 Ethernet Controller driver in compatibility mode and then check if it helps.

1.Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.

2.Select Compatibility Tab.

3.Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.

4.Click OK and run the setup.

Hi,

• Is the computer connected to Domain/server network?
• Are you referring to internet speed?

You're probably getting this connectionspeed from the icon at your task tray, correct? That's the maximum speed of your interface, which is 100MB/s, but that's not your actual internetspeed.
To check your internetspeed, Go online and search for internet speed test you will find few websites which will check your internet speed and provide the accurate results.

I went looking for the 'setup file' for the driver and all I was able to locate was the driver itself which is in 'C:WindowsSystem32drivers'. Of course there is no compatibility setting there to change.

Could you suggest where one might find this setup file? or areas to look? In my case the driver file is called L1C63x64.sys so I would image the setup file would have a similar nomenclature.

Recently I had uninstalled a Bamboo Pen tablet driver. This was not an important part of the system and I figured it would be fine if I uninstalled it. Unfortunately I was wrong and upon a restart, the computer was permanently lodged in a System repair loop. Eventually I gave up (the options were not doing anything helpful to the computer and didn't work at all) and then I used Dell Factory Image Restore (I have an Alienware m11x laptop). The computer seemed to work fine afterwards but kept getting the Blue Screen of Death whoever I tried to do something upon starting up. I shut it down and now I get this;

After I get this, nothing happens. Pressing/holding f8 does nothing.

This did not work;

and all I get is this on the boot menu.

Thinking there was something wrong with the hard drive, I opened the back of the laptop (I didn't touch anything, don't worry.) and found a loose screw.
It was in the small magnetized area to the far left of the hard drive. It won't go back in the original place and I'm wondering if this could have damaged the computer in some way?

What do you mean '...It won't go back in the original place'? When you open the laptop, was the loose screw one of the two captive screws (2&3 in you image above) and that the other was screwed in place? If the loose screw was not shorting any of the components inside it should not do any damage. Just wondering how did the laptop loose a screw inside.

Try removing the hard drive (use the pull tab -#1 in the image) and reinsert it back and see if it gets recognized by the BIOS.

The missing screws. I found the silver in the same place as the black one. The hole is just below them and the screw just won't actually screw in.

The rest of the computer seems normal, can you spot anything wrong with it?

I tried reinserting the hard drive. Nothing changed.

I think you placed the port.Please replace the port.

Repair MBR

Boot From the Windows Install Disc
The first thing you’ll need to do is boot off the install disc, and then click through until you see the “Repair your computer” link in the lower left-hand corner.
You’ll need to choose the correct installation of Windows and then click the Next button.
And then you’ll get to the System Recovery Options screen, where you can get to the Command Prompt.

Repairing the Master Boot Record
If you want to restore the master boot record, you can simply type in the following command:

bootrec /fixmbr

You can also write a new boot sector onto the system partition with this command (which is often more useful):

bootrec /fixboot

And of course, if you just use bootrec /? you’ll be able to see all the options.
